Services
1-1 Sessions
1 to 1 sessions help you recognise, and work towards resolving or coping with, the issues you bring. Using coping strategies and techniques whether using talking therapy or creatively, we can find solutions together. Clients can be as loud, silly, quiet, adventurous or any other way they wish to be within their safe space without fear of judgement. See Q&A section for pricing.
Creative Counselling
Creative Counselling is where you as a client decides to add arts and crafts, sand, clay toys and puppets into sessions to help explore your thoughts without the necessity of talking. You determine how your time will be used. You are in a safe environment where you can simply be who and how you wish to be.
1-1 Clinical Supervision
Clinical Supervision is viewed by many as an essential part of a Counsellors role, most Governing Bodies state supervision is compulsory within their ethical frameworks. Supervision is also a requirement of most insurers. Gentle Thoughts offers 1-1 Clinical Supervision using an Integrative Model and you may decide to incorporate creative interventions within your Supervision sessions if you feel this would be helpful to your work. See Q&A for pricing
Group Sessions
Peer group sessions are a space where professionals can meet and share their skills and knowledge as well as receive support from their peers in a safe, respectful environment. Due to the size of the space there will only be 5 people per group for face to face sessions (including the facilitator). Trainee counsellors can gain a wealth of knowledge from qualified, experienced therapists so groups will be a mix of qualified and trainee professionals.
Children’s & Young People Counselling Service
I am thrilled to announce the launch of my latest initiative: the Children’s and Young Persons Counselling Service in collaboration with Arcus!
Arcus understands the unique challenges that children and young people face in today’s world, and we are both committed to providing them with the support they need.

In partnership with Arcus the Children & Young People’s Counselling Service is based in County Durham where we can provide in-person therapy and together share a wealth of experience and knowledge in working with young people and children
Our new counselling service is designed specifically for children and young people aged 8 to 18 years old who may be struggling with various issues such as anxiety, depression, family problems, bullying, trauma, identity, sexuality or any other emotional difficulties they may be experiencing.
Here’s what the service will offer:
1. Tailored Approach: We take a client-centred approach, tailoring each session to meet the unique needs and preferences of the child or young person.
2. Safe and Supportive Environment: We provide a safe, welcoming, and non-judgmental environment where children and young people can express themselves freely and explore their thoughts and feelings.
3. Holistic Support: Our counselling service takes a holistic approach, addressing not only the immediate concerns but also aims to help children and young people develop coping strategies, resilience, and emotional well-being.
4. Creative Counselling: we believe that sometimes words are not enough to be able to express our thoughts so a variety of creative approaches may be used within sessions.
5. Flexible Approach: we can offer online sessions for young people over 13 years of age
Whether the child or young person is struggling with school-related stress, peer pressure, family conflict, or any other challenges, our dedicated team is here to help.
When making a booking for this service through Gentle Thoughts Counselling, Arcus will receive a small percentage of the fee. Please let me know whether you would like to allow this at the time of booking.
Gentle Thoughts Counselling and Arcus are looking forward to supporting you.
